Artistic Projects

Since 2004 I’ve been involved with BEAST as a programmer, team member and co-director.

I have a duo, Scirk, with instrument builder Dirk Stromberg. We tend to loop ourselves together with strange bits of machine listening and feedback to create unusual hybrid and shared ‘instruments’ greater than each of us on our own.

In 2011 I founded BEER, the Birmingham Ensemble for Electroacoustic Research, which ran for about 10 years.
It focused mainly on networked live coding systems as structures for improvisation.

Kelp Road is a collaboration with visual artist Anne Parouty. It’s a multimedia project exploring and immersing the audience in the sights and sounds of the marine world, taking the form of sound and art installations and multimedia concert presentations.
Software / Code

For many years I’ve been involved in the development of SuperCollider.

Years ago I wrote a handy tool for combining, splitting and reordering channels in audio files called De-Interleaver. For MacOS.
Most of my personal development projects are now hosted on GitHub: These include SuperCollider libraries and extensions amongst other things.
